Sending Simply Safety Alerts through MS Exchange

Exchange must be configured to allow a workstation to act as a relay source.

Task: Configure a Relay Connector for the server or working station ( hosting Simply Safety server Email Notification  service and User’s workstation) on Exchange Server 2010, permit a non-Exchange server to relay mail,  create a new Receive Connector on the Hub Transport server.

Steps:

  1. Launch the Exchange Management Console and navigate to Server Configuration, and then Hub Transport.
  2. Select the Hub Transport server you wish to create the new Receive Connector on, and from the Actions pane of the console choose New Receive Connector
  3. Click the Add button and enter the IP address of the server/workstations  you want to allow to relay through the Exchange server. In most cases, the ‘Receive Connectors’ are the Simply Safety server and the User’s workstation computer (by IP addresses).
